Koh Samui

Sorry for not posting for a couple of days.

Welcome to the coconut island! Apparently they export 2 million coconuts to Bangkok each year.

The bay that our resort is sited on is pure white sand and ends in a couple of desert islands. All along the beach are hotels and restaurants and small shacks offering Thai massage which looks like medieval torture to me!

We wandered off site down the beach for a drink last night and drank lots of Singha beer and some lovely cocktails. You could buy sky lanterns and rockets off hawkers on the beach. I might send off a lantern with my wishes before the end of the holiday.

The food on the resort is fine and they attempt to make if more enjoyable by offering themed evenings, for example on Thursday it is Thai barbecue night. On Sunday it was the Song Kran celebration so it was a buffet which was excellent - I ate lots of satay :) They also had a Thai boxing demonstration and other performances to make a wonderful evening.

As you may have guessed, I have decided not to learn to dive here. My health is still not 100 percent. C and Charlie are there now. I hope that they are having fun.

Our villa is on two floors and is ace. There is a private garden with pool, daybed etc. on the back that is not overlooked (see picture) and I must confess to a bit of skinny dipping to cool off.
